Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a software verification engineer for lunar programs within the Lunar Permanence unit in Seattle. You will collaborate with systems engineers, developers, and program managers to define verification plans, lead verification practices, and guide test case development to ensure safe mission outcomes.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, a strong background in safety-critical software, and proficiency in C/C++, Python, and JavaScript. Candidates must be a U.S.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years professional experience.
• Experience developing test cases, procedures, and scripts for software verification.
• Experience in developing software requirements, verification plans, and test cases.
• Experience working across systems and software disciplines, leading cross functional groups.
• Experience in spacecraft design and operations.
• Experience with fault management design.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible work status.

Responsibilities

• Define software verification and test plans with systems engineers, developers, and program managers.
• Lead team members on software verification best practices.
• Collaborate with Verification RE to set direction for development verification events and test cases.
• Manage hardware-software integration problems across vehicle and mission design teams.
• Ensure safety-critical software development processes are properly documented for safe missions.
