Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to own the full life cycle of fluid-handling, thermal, mechanical, and structural components within the integrated fuel cell assembly for the Lunar Permanence program.

You will define requirements, drive design decisions, and collaborate across subsystems to ensure robust, testable flight hardware and clear documentation. Strong CAD/CFD experience and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical/Aerospace or related field.
  • 3+ years in aerospace or related industry.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling and PLM systems.
  • Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience interpreting and generating P&IDs.
  • Experience thermal, fluid, and structural analysis of piping/tubing systems.
  • Knowledge of fluid system hardware (valves, regulators, pumps).
  • Knowledge of thermal system hardware (pumps, cold plates, radiators, sensors).
  • Familiarity with fabrication, installation, and quality control techniques for piping systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze fluid-handling, thermal, mechanical, and secondary structure components within the integrated fuel cell assembly.
  • Define requirements and drive design decisions to meet objectives while balancing cost/schedule/risk.
  • Utilize CAD practices and analyses (structural, thermal, CFD).
  • Collaborate with vehicle subsystems and document components/assemblies.
  • Work with suppliers to procure, fabricate, and install flight hardware.
  • Create test plans and manage testing/qualification of components.
  • Communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
  • Mentor engineers and perform technical peer reviews.
