Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Lexington, KY is hiring for an onsite terminal supervisor to lead dock operations and a team of drivers and dock staff. The role requires strong leadership, industry knowledge in LTL trucking, and a willingness to work 50 hours per week across shifts, including nights and weekends.

The ideal candidate will have prior management or dispatch experience, be tech-savvy, and committed to delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations.
• A thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch or dock experience, preferably in LTL trucking industry.
• Strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• Ability to multi-task while being detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to work 50 hours/week average.
• Able to work any shift including nights/weekends/in any weather conditions.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations for your designated section of the terminal dock, including loading, forklift traffic, and proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hands.
• Monitor dock production and ensure KPI goals are met or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime; maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance and support a culture of excellence in product quality.
