Job summary

Hyliion in Austin, Texas is seeking an experienced engineer to work on laser powder bed fusion processes for the KARNO generator. The role involves optimizing machine behavior and enhancing part quality through rigorous experimentation and analysis. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

This position is onsite and requires hands-on work with advanced manufacturing systems while promoting high reliability and performance in production.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years engineering experience required.
• Direct hands-on experience with laser powder bed fusion is mandatory.
• Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Identify and optimize critical-to-function parameters.
• Design and execute experiments to reduce variation.
• Improve AM machine capability through hardware tuning.

Skills

Hands-on machine troubleshooting

Statistical analysis tools (SPC, JMP, Minitab)

Build prep/simulation software (ANSYS, Dyndrite)
