Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Equities Electronic-Execution team. You will design and deliver a next-generation low-latency Java platform, collaborating with traders, quants, and global teams to enable high-speed execution, market connectivity, and robust post-trade capabilities.

You will contribute to high-performance systems, participate in Agile and CI/CD practices, and help drive improvements in testing, reliability, and scalability across the platform.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with strong technical knowledge and expertise in low-latency Java.
• Solid understanding of automated testing techniques and quality engineering practices.
• Strong grasp of Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration processes.
• Familiarity with low-latency system design, including performance optimization, concurrency, and high-throughput architecture.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-cultural collaboration and clear concept sharing.

Responsibilities

• Design, development and maintenance of high-performance, low-latency electronic execution systems.
• Partner with traders, quants, and clients to translate needs into product features and enhancements (execution performance, new liquidity sources, DMA).
• Continuously improve testing frameworks, development tools and environments for reliability and scale.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to boost productivity and quality.
• Champion Agile development practices and CI/CD with a focus on shift-left testing and faster releases.
• Build and maintain shared solutions for trading platform monitoring, reconciliation and recovery.
