Job summary

Citi's Equities Technology organization in London is seeking a Senior Low Latency Software Engineer to join the Electronic Execution team. You will design, develop and deliver Citi's next‑generation low‑latency platform powering Algorithmic Trading, Smart Order Routing and high‑throughput market data processing.

The role requires strong expertise in Java and Rust (C++ a plus) and proven experience building global trading infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing low-latency electronic trading platforms.
• Strong testing and quality engineering practices.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-performance, low-latency execution systems.
• Collaborate with traders, quants and clients to translate needs into features.
• Improve testing frameworks and development tools for reliability at scale.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to boost productivity and code quality.
• Champion Agile practices and CI/CD with shift-left testing.
• Build shared monitoring, reconciliation and recovery solutions for the platform.
