Job summary

Acadia Insurance, a regional property casualty insurer and part of W.R. Berkley Corporation, is seeking an experienced loss control professional.

The role focuses on identifying hazards, evaluating controls, and providing strategic recommendations to insureds and underwriting leadership. The position requires leading complex risk improvement initiatives, mentoring staff, and traveling to insured locations to support account retention and growth.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of advanced commercial insurance loss control or safety consulting experience.
• Demonstrated expertise evaluating large, highly complex, and specialized commercial accounts.
• Proficiency in conducting all survey types across all lines of business and insurance programs.
• Advanced understanding of property valuation methodologies, fire protection systems, industrial operations, regulatory compliance, and emerging risk exposures.
• Ability to interpret complex operational risks and provide strategic recommendations to insureds and underwriting leadership.
• Proven leadership abilities, including mentoring, coaching, and serving as a departmental subject matter expert.
• Strong project management, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Experience leading large account service plans and complex risk improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the acquisition and retention of profitable business by identifying hazards and controls for new and existing accounts.
• Conduct surveys and services on large, complex accounts and identify hazards and controls for all lines of coverage.
• Provide recommendations to improve conditions to mitigate hazards and follow up on recommendations.
• Support loss control services for all departments and assist other departments in writing and retaining profitable business.
• Coordinate collection and dissemination of material related to specialized technical areas assigned.
• Meet or exceed department standards for production, quality and timeliness of survey work.
