Qualifications

• Experience in vessel hold operations and cargo handling.
• Specialized training in PIT operation, cargo securing, and equipment use.
• Proficiency with forklifts, yard mules, chain saws, and chop saws.
• Strong understanding of cargo stowage and safety standards.
• Physical ability for demanding tasks in varied conditions.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and capable of independent or team work.

Responsabilités

• Hook cargoes in the hold for unloading and unhook during loading onto the vessel.
• Understand cargo stowage, dunnage and securing requirements.
• Operate PIT’s stowing cargo on the vessel - Small Forklift or Yard Mule.
• Operate chain and chop saws.
• Secure cargo with lashings and carpentry and safely remove lashings/securements.
• Visually inspect the lifting gear.
• Maintain a clean work area.
