Logistec is seeking an experienced Longshoreman to handle cargo in vessel holds and terminal operations. The role requires advanced training in PIT operation, securing cargo, and equipment use, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency in high-risk environments.

The position involves supervising smaller teams or mentoring junior staff, performing tasks with forklifts, yard mules, and saws, and ensuring compliance with stowage and securing standards in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in vessel hold operations and advanced cargo handling.
• Specialized training in PIT operation, cargo securing, and equipment use.
• Strong understanding of cargo stowage principles and safety standards.
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks.

Responsabilités

• Hooking on cargoes in the hold for unloading and unhooking during loading onto the vessel.
• Understanding cargo stowage, dunnage & securing requirements.
• Proficient in operating PIT's stowing cargo on the vessel - Small Forklift or Yard Mule.
• Proficient with chain & chop saws.
• Proficient in securing cargo with lashings and carpentry & safely removing lashings/securements.
• Visually inspect the lifting gear.
• Maintain a clean work area.
