LMI is seeking a Senior Logistics and Transportation Advisor to provide strategic logistics, transportation, and joint distribution expertise in support of Department of Defense (DoD) and Joint Staff missions. The ideal candidate will bring significant senior-level experience leading logistics and transportation organizations and coordinating complex requirements across the Joint Logistics Enterprise.

The position will serve as a senior subject matter expert and trusted advisor, supporting logistics strategy, transportation planning, operational readiness, policy development, and coordination among the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Military Services, Defense Agencies, and commercial transportation partners.

Responsibilities

• Joint Logistics & Transportation: Provide senior-level expertise in strategic and operational logistics, transportation, distribution, deployment, and sustainment activities supporting Joint Force requirements.
• Joint Coordination: Synchronize activities across the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Military Services, Defense Agencies—including DLA and commercial transportation and logistics partners.
• Strategic Advisory Support: Advise senior government leaders on logistics and transportation policy, readiness, operational risks, capability gaps, and potential courses of action.
• Planning & Analysis: Support development and assessment of logistics strategies, concepts, plans, policies, exercises, and operational requirements.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with senior DoD logistics and transportation stakeholders and facilitate cross-organizational working groups, engagements, and decision forums.
• Executive Communication: Develop senior-leader briefings, decision papers, assessments, recommendations, and other executive-level products.
• Business Development: Support customer engagement, opportunity identification, capture activities, and development of logistics and transportation solutions that leverage LMI capabilities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in DoD logistics, transportation, distribution, deployment, or sustainment.
• Previous experience serving in a senior government leadership position (GS-15/O-6 equivalent preferred) with responsibility for logistics and/or transportation programs.
• Demonstrated experience leading organizations and multidisciplinary teams supporting complex DoD logistics missions.
• Extensive knowledge of the Joint Logistics Enterprise, including Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Military Services, DLA, USTRANSCOM, and other logistics stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and advise senior military and civilian leaders.
• Strong understanding of DoD logistics policy, transportation operations, readiness, contingency planning, and commercial logistics integration.
• Excellent executive communication, facilitation, analytical, and relationship-management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret/SCI preferred.

Target salary range: $84,000 - $145,000.

The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
