Qualifications

  • Ability to analyze readiness, demand, lead time, failure and inventory data.

Responsibilities

  • Develop end-to-end logistics and sustainment plans for autonomous platforms, payloads, control systems, batteries, spare parts, and data products.
  • Design factory-to-field distribution pipelines aligning production, delivery, storage, staging, issue, recovery, repair, and replacement.
  • Coordinate supply, maintenance, warehousing, packaging, and field support across partners.
  • Build logistics dashboards, asset visibility products, and readiness reports.
  • Support logistics planning for exercises, demonstrations, and forward-deployed operations.
  • Integrate operator feedback into maintenance concepts and procurement recommendations.
  • Coordinate with transportation, security, facilities, and other stakeholders to resolve dependencies.
  • Ensure compliance with property, storage, safety, and records requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce sustainment burden and improve parts availability.
  • Prepare decision-ready logistics assessments for senior leaders.

Overview

LMI seeks a Logistics Operations Specialist to support a Department of War mission partner with developing and executing the sustainment architecture that moves autonomous systems from factory to field and keeps them mission-ready. The specialist supports distribution, storage, prepositioning, maintenance, supply, asset visibility, and forward deployment across contested and geographically dispersed environments. The ideal candidate understands Department of Defense logistics processes and the sustainment challenges of rapidly evolving robotic and autonomous systems.

This position requires on-site support in Tampa, Florida and an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. The position requires periodic travel to supported commands, operational units, exercises, test events, and industry locations.
Responsibilities
  • Develop end-to-end logistics and sustainment plans for autonomous platforms, payloads, control systems, batteries, spare parts, support equipment, and associated software and data products.
  • Design factory-to-field distribution pipelines that align production, delivery, storage, staging, issue, recovery, repair, and replacement activities.
  • Develop storage and prepositioning strategies that support global access, rapid deployment, security, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Coordinate supply, maintenance, property accountability, warehousing, packaging, technical data, training, and field support across government and industry partners.
  • Assess readiness drivers, failure trends, demand patterns, lead times, sparing requirements, and sustainment risks.
  • Build and maintain logistics dashboards, asset visibility products, supportability analyses, deployment packages, and readiness reports.
  • Support logistics planning for exercises, demonstrations, test events, contingencies, and forward-deployed operations.
  • Integrate operator feedback and field performance data into maintenance concepts, support plans, technical documentation, and procurement recommendations.
  • Coordinate with transportation, acquisition, security, safety, facilities, and operational stakeholders to resolve logistics dependencies.
  • Keep logistics activities compliant with applicable property, supply, storage, safety, security, and records requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce sustainment burden, shorten repair cycles, improve parts availability, and increase operational readiness.
  • Prepare decision-ready logistics assessments and briefings for senior leaders.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, operations, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in Department of Defense logistics, supply, maintenance, sustainment, lifecycle support, property accountability, or a closely related field.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience developing or executing logistics support plans for military systems, operational equipment, or emerging technology.
  • Working knowledge of supply support, maintenance planning, spares, storage, packaging, distribution, asset visibility, and field service operations.
  • Ability to analyze readiness, demand, lead-time, failure, and inventory data and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience coordinating across operational units, program offices, logistics organizations, vendors, and support contractors.
  • Strong written communication, briefing, planning, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and relevant logistics or asset management systems.
  • Ability to travel and support field activities at operational, storage, test, and industry locations.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting a combatant command J4, a Service logistics headquarters, or a Special Operations Forces organization.
  • Experience sustaining uncrewed systems, robotics, communications equipment, tactical computing, batteries, sensors, or other rapidly evolving technologies.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle logistics, reliability, maintainability, supportability analysis, or performance-based logistics.
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act lifecycle logistics, Project Management Professional, Certified Supply Chain Professional, or related certification.

The target salary range for this position is $148,301 - $255,653.

Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
