Job summary

Penske Logistics LLC in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Senior Operations Supervisor to lead hourly staff and ensure execution of daily tasks including driver deliveries, loading/unloading, cross docking and customer service. Schedule: Sunday 2:00PM Start / Monday-Thursday 8:00PM Start (hours vary).

Qualifications

• 2-4 years related functional experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to travel as necessary and pass background/drug screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable; interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire; monitor attendance, productivity and performance.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch and documentation; evaluate and improve methods to increase productivity.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and manage working hours to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.
• Align day-to-day activities with the location safety strategy and provide training and direction to ensure safe performance.
• Understand location goals and commitments; support continuous improvement efforts and customer objectives.
• Plan work assignments to maximize use of fleet/warehouse equipment and ensure safe operation by hourly staff.
