Job summary

The Finway Group, a Strongpoint partner, seeks an experienced Loans & Distributions Manager to lead the Loans & Distributions team. You will oversee daily processing, manage workloads, and ensure compliance with plan documents and IRS/DOL rules in a fully remote nationwide role.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in retirement plan loans/distributions, supervisory experience, and a proactive approach to process improvement. Collaboration with recordkeepers and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience processing retirement plan loans and distributions, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Strong working knowledge of qualified retirement plan documents and IRS/DOL regulations governing loans and distributions.
• Experience leading teams in high-volume processing with established SLAs and turnaround metrics.
• Ability to develop and implement efficient workflows, documented procedures, and quality-control processes.
• Familiarity with major recordkeepers such as Empower, Voya, John Hancock, Principal, and Transamerica is a plus.
• Proficiency with PensionPro, FT William, and ERISApedia preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service spirit.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Loans and Distributions team, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
• Oversee daily processing of participant loan and distribution requests, balancing workloads to meet 24–48-hour targets.
• Monitor productivity, turnaround times, and performance; provide regular reporting to leadership.
• Review and approve complex or high-risk transactions (QDROs, RMDs, hardship withdrawals).
• Serve as escalation point for issues involving recordkeepers, clients, and plan participants.
• Build relationships with recordkeepers to ensure accurate, compliant processing.
• Develop and maintain procedures, checklists, and internal controls for compliance.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and implement process improvements or automation.
• Oversee data integrity in PensionPro, FT William, and ERISApedia.
• Stay informed on regulatory developments and update team procedures accordingly.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Plan Administrators to deliver client service.
• Provide hands-on support during peak volumes.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
