Qualifications

Job description

Position Job Title: Senior Loan Processor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Location: Remote

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Senior Loan Processor evaluates all information supplied on the mortgage loan application, verifies the validity of the information, and assembles a complete documented file for Underwriting and Closing. Acts as the primary liaison between the loan officer, loan officer assistant, realtors, builders, and the customer(s).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Maintains knowledge of all policies and modifications to the guidelines and standards of the company, federal housing programs, investors, and private mortgage insurers.
  2. Maintains and updates loan application information within loan origination software and other applications.
  3. Orders appraisals, title, survey, verifications, and other items required for loan approval; conducts follow-ups with outside sources regarding outstanding documents.
  4. Verifies data, analyzes, and determines whether it meets guidelines or if additional documentation is needed; documents communication and ensures compliance with underwriting, investor, RESPA, and HMDA guidelines.
  5. Calculates income, reviews assets and liabilities.
  6. Reviews disclosures for completeness and compliance.
  7. Completes final evaluation of application packages and submits eligible files with conditions.
  8. Monitors rate lock information for data integrity and expiration; communicates discrepancies to the Loan Officer.
  9. Maintains accurate pipeline projections and closing dates.
  10. Prepares "Adverse Action" letters when applicable, providing reasons for denial.
  11. Schedules closing appointments with relevant parties and meets customer service standards.
  12. Updates loan officers, realtors, builders, and customers on loan status.
  13. Maintains communication with customers throughout the process, assisting with questions and additional requirements.

Managerial Responsibility

This position does not supervise other employees.

Position Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years mortgage banking experience as a processor or junior processor.
  • Working knowledge of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, FHA/VA policies, guidelines, and Regulatory Mortgage Compliance.
  • Experience with Encompass or other LOS systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and ability to learn other mortgage-related programs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work overtime if necessary.
Compensation

The salary range is between $65,000 and $80,000 annually, depending on experience and skills. Paid bi-weekly with potential bonuses.

Physical and Work Environment
