Job summary

Ameris Bank is seeking a Loan Documentation Quality and Training Specialist to serve as SME and product owner for loan documentation, coordinating training for Loan Closers and related stakeholders on complex commercial transactions.

You will review closings, identify discrepancies, advise on policy, and partner with Loan Operations, Lending, Credit, attorneys, and vendors to ensure accurate due diligence and closing execution. The role emphasizes training delivery and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Specialized knowledge of commercial loan closing, documentation, regulatory requirements.
• Ability to develop and deliver training and coaching for operational teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional partners.
• Ability to read and interpret complex loan approvals and legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Develops, delivers, and maintains loan documentation and closing-related training for closers and stakeholders.
• Reviews completed and in-process closings to identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
• Acts as SME for loan documentation and complex closing requirements for hub closers and supervisors.
• Reviews loan terms, policies, and regulatory requirements to determine closing needs.
• Supports large, complex closings by reviewing documents, third-party reports, and diligence items.
• Identifies issues, researches root causes, and recommends corrective actions.
• Analyzes closing processes and implements continuous improvements for quality and efficiency.
• Represents the Commercial Loan Hub in cross-functional initiatives and process changes.
