Job summary

Ameris Bank is seeking a Loan Documentation Quality and Training Specialist to serve as the subject matter expert for loan documentation and training. You will coordinate, prepare, and review complex commercial loan closings and related documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include developing and delivering training for Loan Closers and stakeholders, auditing closings for gaps, and partnering with Loan Operations, Lending, Credit, and attorneys to ensure consistent

Qualifications

• Specialized knowledge of commercial loan closing, regulatory requirements, and bank policy.
• Thorough knowledge of loan products, entities, covenants, and due diligence.
• Ability to develop and deliver effective training and drive process adoption.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex loan approvals and documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to negotiate and influence.
• Strong organizational skills with multitasking and deadline management.
• Proficient with banking or loan-related software and general office tools.

Responsibilities

• Develops, delivers, and maintains loan documentation training for closers and stakeholders to promote best practices and compliance.
• Reviews completed and in-process closings to identify discrepancies, policy exceptions, and training gaps.
• Serves as subject matter expert for loan documentation and complex closing requirements for closers and supervisors.
• Reviews loan type, terms, policy, and regulatory requirements to determine closing needs and due diligence.
• Supports large, complex closings by reviewing legal documents, reports, and other required diligence items.
• Identifies discrepancies, researches root causes, and recommends corrective actions.
• Analyzes loan closing processes and implements improvements to strengthen effectiveness and consistency.
• Represents Commercial Loan Hub in cross-functional initiatives and workflow changes.
• Monitors regulatory and policy changes and updates training materials accordingly.
• Maintains clear communication with lenders, borrowers, attorneys, and partners regarding requirements and status.
• Supports timely completion of closing requirements, file organization, and quality control.
