Job summary

Cyrex, a Magic Media company, is seeking a versatile load-testing engineer to design, implement and run scenarios that model real user behavior across Go backends, React frontends, and AWS infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with customers, run tests, analyze results, and drive improvements across the platform.

You’ll work with Python as the primary language for test scenarios, while also using Go, TypeScript, Terraform and AWS as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of delivered work
• Strong Python skills as the core language for the role
• Hands-on cloud experience, ideally with AWS, including infrastructure as code and containers
• Breadth to maintain a typed backend and React frontend
• Understanding of distributed systems and failure modes
• Ability to lead technical sessions with customers and explain findings clearly
• Excellent spoken and written English

Responsibilities

• Design test scenarios that model real user behavior
• Implement scenarios in Python against customer protocols
• Work directly with customers during load tests and iterations
• Run tests, analyze results, identify bottlenecks, and suggest changes
• Lead sessions as you grow into the role
• Move between software engineering, performance engineering, systems analysis and delivery
