Job summary

Penske Logistics in Reading, PA is seeking a Lead Load Planner to coordinate load planning and freight movements. You will support supervisors, manage shifts for a single or multiple customers, travel to on-site locations, run metrics, train staff, and optimize shipments using Penske's Transportation Management System.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics including warehouse or distribution preferred.
• Load planning and freight movement experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work with a team and support team needs.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.

Responsibilities

• Support supervisor on process management activities and customer communication.
• Coordinate load planning processes and freight movement.
• Plan and optimize shipments using the company’s Transportation Management System.
• Tender freight to 3rd party carriers and maintain systems.
• Respond to customer inquiries and escalate as needed.
• Travel to Penske or customer sites as required.
