Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Lead Load Planner in Reading, PA. You will coordinate load planning and freight movement, supervise the on-site team, and ensure timely, cost-effective transportation for customers.

This role requires strong analytical, computer, and communication skills, with a focus on accuracy and customer delight. The position is onsite full-time with a standard Monday–Friday schedule and occasional travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's in Business or Supply Chain preferred.
• Experience in logistics services (warehouse, distribution, or supply chain) preferred.
• Transportation Management experience preferred; Load planning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support supervisor on process management activities and customer communication.
• Indirect team management responsibilities delegated by Supervisor or Account manager.
• Shift management for a single customer or across customers; travel to Penske or customer sites.
• Run metrics to manage process controls and train the team on load planning activities.
• Plan and optimize shipments using Penske's Transportation Management System; tender freight to 3rd party carriers.
