Job summary

Oakmont Management Group is hiring a Sous Chef for Ivy Park at Oakland Hills in Oakland, CA. The role runs Thursday through Monday, with an hourly pay rate of $25.00 to $26.00.

The Sous Chef will oversee culinary operations, ensure high-quality meals, and support the Culinary Services Director as needed. Responsibilities include planning and delivering meals, maintaining sanitary standards, and managing kitchen staff in the absence of the director.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. College course or other education in food service and/or management preferred.
• Prefer six (6) months of experience working in a restaurant or similar environment as a Cook.
• Able to safely operate standard cooking equipment and utensils typically found in facilities serving food.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Able to operate standard office equipment, including fax machine, copier, telephone, etc.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the dining experience for residents, family members and visitors is high quality, including menu selection, meal preparation, presentation, taste, and service.
• Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of all meals in the community, ensuring quality and appetizing results.
• Prepare and serve food in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies; report incidents to Culinary Services Director.
