Job summary

Provincial Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to lead the kitchen team in a community setting. The role focuses on supervising staff, controlling costs, and ensuring high standards of food safety and presentation within a senior living environment.

Candidates should have two years of Sous Chef experience, a sanitation certificate, and an associates degree preferred. Weekend and evening work flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of Sous Chef experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Current Food Services Sanitation certificate.
• Associates Degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to dietary/kitchen team and support the Executive Chef.
• Assist in controlling food costs.
• Maintain controls and security of all food items and supplies in storage.
• Maintain and enforce policies and procedures of meal production and coordination.
• Manage meal service; receive, rotate and inventory products; ensure correct portions and plating.
• Record and maintain Food Safety Equipment Records and Temperature Records.
• Rotate inventory (FIFO) and ensure proper storage of foods and supplies.
