Job summary

Senior Lifestyle Corporation is seeking a Sous Chef for Evergreen Retirement Community in Cincinnati, OH. This full-time role supports daily kitchen operations, collaborates with the Executive Chef to maintain high-quality food and cleanliness, and oversees cooks and prep staff.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a commercial kitchen, ServSafe or equivalent certification, and strong organizational/communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment or equivalent certification/education.
• Serv Safe or equivalent local, county or state certification.
• Organized with strong communication with colleagues and residents.
• Pride in quality and presentation of prepared food.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals from standardized recipes in a timely and attractive manner.
• Set up food service line and workstations with needed condiments.
• Ensure condiments and garnishes are prepared and served with foods.
• Coordinate prep for the following day’s menu.
• Participate in pre-meal meeting with food servers.
• Assist with training of new kitchen staff.
• Assist with scheduling of employees in the department.
• Assist with food ordering and inventory management.
