Job summary

Sagora Senior Living is seeking a creative Sous Chef to join the Lyndale Abilene Memory Care team in Abilene, TX. You will work with the Culinary Director to prepare nutritious, aesthetically pleasing meals for residents across memory care, assisted living, and independent living settings.

The role requires a ServSafe certificate, ability to manage menus and costing, and strong English communication with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef or Assistant Culinary Director in a commercial kitchen.
• Current ServSafe Certification and Food Handler’s permit.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents and staff.
• Ability to read recipes, calculate costs, and manage menus.
• Experience preparing dishes for specialized diets.

Responsibilities

• Assist Culinary Director in day-to-day oversight of the culinary department.
• Oversee the culinary department in the absence of the Culinary Director.
• Prepare menu items in accordance with recipes.
• Cook à la carte items.
• Present a finished plate to be served and enjoyed.
• Maintaining a safe, sanitary, clean, and organized cooking area.
• Deep clean kitchen on a monthly basis.
• Assist with inventory and ordering of food and non-food supplies.
• Train and counsel food service associates.
