Job summary

Merrill Gardens in Pinole, CA is seeking a Senior Living Prep Cook to support residents with high-quality, nutritious meals in a warm, senior-friendly environment.

You will assist in all food preparation following recipes and safety standards, attend trainings, and maintain kitchen sanitation. A HS diploma or GED is required; 5+ years in food prep and 1 year dining experience preferred; benefits include daily meals, EAP, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plan.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in quality food preparation.
• Scratch cooking in a high-volume setting.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook and Word.
• 1 year dining experience in food preparation.
• HS diploma or GED; college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing all food items following production amounts, recipes and procedures.
• Ensures timely preparation; uses batch-cooking and cook-to-order techniques.
• Prepares food while supporting dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Attends regular dining services meetings and trainings.
• Maintains kitchen sanitation and safety, documentation, and cleaning.
