Job summary

Northaven Senior Living is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee general ledger, reporting, and payroll in a nonprofit senior living environment. The role focuses on accurate financials, internal controls, and partnering with leadership to support mission-driven operations.

The position is full-time, non-exempt and located in Seattle, WA, with a 32-hour workweek alternative schedule typical for this role. Experience in nonprofit housing or healthcare is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office; advanced Excel preferred.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and manage staff while maintaining professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations across entities.
• Monitor QuickBooks entries and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile bank, investment, and asset accounts; support external reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and payroll processes with staff support.
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and HUD/IRS reporting; coordinate audits.
