Job summary

The Landings of Smithfield in Smithfield, NC is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to support residents by administering medications accurately, monitoring health status, and assisting the nursing team.

You will work in a compassionate elder-care setting, promoting dignity, coordinating with staff, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Experience preferred; must have a state-approved Medication Aide program and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a state-approved Medication Aide training program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of healthcare/senior living/long-term care experience preferred.
• Active Medication Aide certification in good standing with the state.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred; background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: prepare, administer, and document medications per physician orders.
• Health Monitoring: observe, report changes, measure vital signs as needed.
• Resident Engagement: build positive relationships and encourage wellness activities.
• Safety & Compliance: infection control, organized carts/records, emergency response.
