Job summary

Serene Gardens in Imlay City, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our assisted living community. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on building systems, and coordinate with outside contractors to keep the property up to code.

The role requires at least three years of maintenance experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and strong English communication. Proficiency with hand and power tools, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of three years of maintenance experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English.
• General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC.
• Proficient in use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
• Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
• Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Oversees outside contractors and signs off on work as needed.
• Plans repair work using repair request forms, building information, repair schedules, etc.
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
• Perform job responsibilities in accordance with company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
