Job summary

New Haven Assisted Living in Tomball is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to manage preventive maintenance and repair work for the facility’s buildings and grounds. The role requires hands-on upkeep of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and general repairs to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, relevant maintenance experience, and the ability to obtain a state driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years related experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing preferred.
• Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Paints and repairs masonry, woodwork, and furnishings or oversees contractor work to keep the building attractive and safe.
• Maintains grounds: mowing, trimming hedges, removing weeds, raking leaves to maintain appearance and safety.
• Cleans and maintains interiors: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, and window washing.
• Inspects and services HVAC, plumbing systems or coordinates with contractors for repairs.
• Performs general repairs and repainting; assists with moving furniture and stocking supplies.
