Job summary

Waltonwood is seeking a Life Enrichment Manager to lead our activities, fitness and volunteer programs across the community. You will assess resident interests, plan weekly events, and guide the Life Enrichment Team to deliver meaningful programming that enhances social well-being and quality of life.

You will report to the Executive Director, supervise staff, coordinate with Resident Care, and maintain calendars, budgets and relationships with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, certifications or coursework in recreational therapy is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1-year of previous experience overseeing Life Enrichment activities in a senior living environment.
• Previous experience working with the elderly population. Memory care experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work independently with integrity and good judgment.
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities.
• Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to motivate individuals to participate in events/activities.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL or Chauffeurs license required in MI depending on vehicle size.
• Able to work weekends and holidays as needed; Manager on Duty responsibilities.
• Additional licensure requirements may exist for Assisted Living/Memory Care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and facilitate all activities and events to promote residents' creativity, physical and mental well-being, socialization and engagement.
• Establish relationships with residents to provide stimulating activities matching interests; provide one-on-one activities as appropriate.
• Create and post a monthly calendar of activities for residents and families.
• Oversee hiring, training, coaching, supervision, scheduling and evaluation of Life Enrichment staff.
• Work with Resident Care to assess needs and encourage participation.
• Recruit entertainers and schedule community events.
• Active involvement with resident council and oversee volunteer program; monitor supplies and budget.
