Job summary

The Landon at Lake Highlands is seeking a Sous Chef to join a compassionate kitchen team in a senior living community. This full-time role reports to the Dining Services Director and focuses on preparing nutritious, attractively plated meals using high-quality ingredients while controlling costs.

Responsibilities include maintaining food safety, recording temperatures, labeling and storing foods, and upholding clean, sanitary kitchen standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED at a minimum.
• Minimum two years cooking experience preferably within healthcare or hospitality.
• Serv-Safe Certification required.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve all food items using high quality ingredients and appropriate garnishes.
• Record and monitor food temperatures during storage, preparation, cooking, and serving.
• Label, date, and properly store all foods to ensure safety and freshness.
• Monitor and record temperatures of kitchen refrigerators and freezers daily.
• Follow established safety procedures while operating kitchen equipment.
