Job summary

The Goodman Group, LLC is seeking a Cook to join our team in Portland, Oregon. The Cook will prepare cold foods, bakery and salads, following menus and standardized recipes. You will work to ensure meals are appetizing, safely prepared, and served on schedule to residents and guests.

Responsibilities include assisting with event preparations, managing inventory, and maintaining clean and safe work areas. Prior kitchen experience and knowledge of food safety are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Deal tactfully with residents, families, staff and visitors.
• Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly residents.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following menus and recipes; ensure palatable taste and appetizing appearance.
• Inspect diet trays and serve food per portion control; prepare therapeutic diets as needed.
• Prepare cold items, bakery and salads; cook hot foods as directed by supervisor.
• Ensure food safety practices and sanitary regulations are followed.
• Adhere to food service timelines and substitutions as required.
• Serve meals to residents and guests; assist with special events and inventory.
