Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of meal preparation for large groups.
• Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, flex shifts, multitask, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to speak and write English clearly for residents.
• Must enjoy working with the elderly and interacting with residents who may be ill or upset.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts in appropriate portions.
• Maintains sanitation standards required by licenses and regulations; cleans work areas, utensils and equipment.
• Rotates inventories by date and notifies Food Service Director when supplies are needed.
• Stores food and checks deliveries in the absence of the Food Service Director.
• Encourages feedback from residents and staff to improve food quality and service.
• Supports other departments to improve overall resident satisfaction.
• Communicates effectively with all involved in resident services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
