Job summary

The Lodge of Northbrook is seeking a hospitality-focused Housekeeping Associate. This role performs housekeeping and laundry across the community to keep a clean, comfortable environment for residents. Starting pay is $18/hour.

You will follow infection prevention procedures, respect residents' privacy, and support older adults with flexible duties. Minimum education: high school diploma/GED; lifting up to 50 lbs; prior housekeeping experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• 3–6 months experience in housekeeping or janitorial position preferred.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Walking, standing, pushing, bending and stretching frequently.
• Able to climb and descend ladders and stairs.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safe handling procedures preferred.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude and a genuine desire to serve and support older adults.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify cleanliness and organization in community standards.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry to maintain a clean, comfortable environment.
• Clean and sanitize common areas, bathrooms, dining areas.
• Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, trash removal, surface disinfection.
• Follow infection prevention procedures and PPE use.
• Respond promptly to housekeeping requests and address spills.
• Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards observed.
• Respect residents' privacy and belongings.
• Assist with additional housekeeping duties as needed.
