Job summary

Arvum Senior Living in Burlington, IA is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe living environments for residents in our Assisted Living and Memory Care communities. You will perform daily cleaning, sanitizing, and laundry tasks, follow schedules, and report maintenance needs.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma (or equivalent), prior housekeeping experience preferred, and a friendly, respectful manner toward residents and teammates.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents.
• Ability to read safety and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Interest in working with a senior population; courteous demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties according to schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges and offices.
• Sweeps, dusts, dust mops, and wet mops all floors and stairways; spot cleans and vacuums floors, rugs, carpets and runners.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and polishes lavatory, shower and sink fixtures; stocks dispensers as necessary.
• Scrubs bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, sills.
• Maintains equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition.
• Collects trash and refuses from work areas and places in designated pickup areas.
• Responsible for collecting, cleaning and redistributing community laundry; keeping the laundry area clean and sanitary.
• Ensures cleaning chemicals are stored securely; keeps cords and equipment out of exits to comply with safety codes.
