Job summary

Alaska Pioneer Homes in Fairbanks, AK seeks a General Manager to oversee a 47-170 bed senior services facility, including food, laundry, and housekeeping, with daily client contact and a calm, outgoing demeanor.

Evening, holiday, and weekend hours are required. The successful candidate must relocate to Fairbanks and work under a union contract with Laborers’ Local 942, ensuring high-quality, compliant operations and strong staff development.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of general management experience in hospitality or similar environment.
• Minimum 2+ years of EVS management experience in hospitality, health care, or senior living.
• Certified Dietary Manager or ability to obtain within 18 months.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Immunizations: TB records or willingness to vaccinate.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and revise policies, operations, and goals.
• Supervise operations, ensure standards, and manage staff.
• Maintain customer communications and relations for continuous service improvement.
• Ensure contract terms are understood and followed.
• Direct promotion of new services/programs.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and sound business practices.
• Prepare budgets and financial reports; track expenditures.
• Support safety program and staff training; develop personnel.
