Job summary

Kahala Nui in East Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to support the Building Operations team with maintenance and repairs of grounds, buildings, and apartment homes. Duties include routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and appliance issues, and responding to resident service requests.

Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalency, 1–2 years in building maintenance, basic technical/mechanical ability, TB

1–2 years building maintenance experience.
Basic technical knowledge and mechanical ability.
TB clearance as per state regulations.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on community buildings, resident apartments, and common areas.
Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance issues.
Respond promptly to resident service requests and maintenance work orders.
Conduct regular inspections of building systems, equipment, and grounds.
Monitor and maintain emergency systems, including fire safety equipment, generators, alarms, and emergency lighting.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and community policies.
Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and work order documentation.
Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as needed.
Assist during emergency situations, severe weather events, and disaster preparedness activities.
