Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age and able to pass background screening.
• Experience with environmental control and operation of housekeeping equipment.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Professional, empathetic, patient; strong interpersonal skills with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and maintaining housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance services.
• Coordinate housekeeping, laundry and maintenance services with other departments per the Maintenance Director.
• Inspect and maintain storage rooms, linen closets, utility and janitorial areas.
• Assist the risk management committee in identifying, evaluating and classifying routine and job-related functions to ensure proper classification of tasks.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment and that supplies and equipment are maintained and operable.
• Assist in development and maintenance of infection control, waste disposal and Universal Precautions policies.
• Ensure staff understand and follow Universal Precautions, safety rules, and departmental procedures.
• Make periodic inspections to ensure adequate levels of supplies and equipment.
• Maintain residents' confidentiality and uphold Residents' Rights.
• Develop and participate in training and orientation for housekeeping, laundry and maintenance staff.
• Be well-versed in all technological systems and on-call for emergencies.
