Job summary

Hillcrest Healthcare is seeking a Dietary Services Supervisor to manage the dietary department, plan menus and oversee food preparation and staffing for residents. The role emphasizes teamwork, compliance with nutrition standards, and ensuring high-quality meals aligned with resident needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan Dietary Services: participate in conferences, purchase foods within budget, plan menus with Dietary Consultant, interview residents or family for diet history, maintain records, verify charted notes, visit residents to evaluate meals.
• Supervise Food Preparation and Staffing: provide nutritious meals on time, verify meals for special dietary needs, monitor preparation and storage, maintain quality and timeliness, ensure disaster-preparedness supplies.
• Unit Supervision Management: interview, hire, train, supervise, evaluate and discipline dietary personnel; enforce fair discipline and recognize staff.
• Other Duties: attend in-service education, follow Standard Precautions, maintain confidentiality, protect residents from neglect and abuse, protect personal property, perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.
