Job summary

Castleseniorlivingny is seeking an experienced dietary services manager to lead kitchen operations in a senior living setting in New York. You will plan menus to meet nutritional guidelines, supervise staff, and ensure accurate preparation of therapeutic diets while maintaining food safety.

Responsibilities include budgeting, inventory control, and collaborating with nursing and admin to address resident needs, with opportunities to improve dining experiences through resident feedback.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of food service management experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, dietary regulations, and food safety standards.
• NYC Food Protection Certificate required; ServSafe Manager Certification a plus.
• CDM credential a plus.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with budgeting, inventory control, and staff scheduling.
• Flexibility to work weekends/holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus meeting nutritional guidelines, regulatory standards, and residents' preferences.
• Ensure therapeutic diets are prepared and served correctly.
• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise dietary and kitchen staff.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations: food safety, sanitation, storage.
• Order supplies and manage inventory within budget.
• Maintain compliance with NYS and NYC health regs; prep for inspections.
• Keep logs: temperature, cleaning schedules, staff in-services.
• Collaborate with nursing and admin to meet resident needs.
• Gather feedback and participate in resident meetings to improve dining.
