Qualifications

• Minimum of tenth grade or above; GED or HS diploma preferred.
• Six months’ experience in large quantity food preparation; therapeutic diet prep experience preferred.
• ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred, or other state/county certification as required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and family members at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of safe food preparation, handling techniques, and basic nutrition.
• Ability to read, speak, understand, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to food preparation.
• Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
• Portion food to meet residents’ needs and preferences.
• Handle and serve food using proper sanitary practices and recipes.
• Ensure meals are served at proper temperatures and visually appealing.
• Maintain accurate menu records and comply with policies.
