Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a Director of Culinary Services to provide strategic oversight and hands-on leadership of the Culinary Services Department. You will manage menu planning, staffing, food quality, safety, and budgets while ensuring exceptional dining experiences for residents.

Lead a high-performing team, oversee operations, and partner with leadership to align food services with community goals and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of culinary leadership in high-volume environments.
• Hands-on kitchen operations experience.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with menu engineering and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily culinary operations and participate in meal preparation and service.
• Plan menus meeting resident dietary guidelines and preferences.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and safety; implement improvements as needed.
• Ensure sanitation, safety, and dietary standards compliance.
• Conduct food safety audits and quality checks.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory control, and vendor contracts.
• Manage budgets and monitor costs; take corrective action as needed.
• Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate culinary staff; lead training programs.
• Engage with residents during meals to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.
• Collaborate with Executive Director to align food services with community goals.
