Job summary

GEMSTONE SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY is seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious meals for about 40 residents in a Type B assisted living setting in Texas. You will follow cycle menus, patient diet orders, and standardized recipes while maintaining safety and sanitation.

You will collaborate with the Dining Director and nursing staff, manage portioning and temperature controls, and help control costs within the community budget. This role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and following diet orders and recipes.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and texture-modified diets is a plus.
• Ability to perform basic math for measuring and portions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for approximately 40 residents.
• Follow planned menus, recipes, and physician diet orders.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation per HHSC Type B rules.
• Record production, temperature, and waste logs.
• Assist with inventory and supplier coordination.
