Job summary

The Claiborne Senior Living is seeking a Cook to prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents and maintain a safe, organized kitchen environment. You will take ownership of your work, act with integrity, and contribute to a welcoming dining culture.

In this role you’ll follow standardized recipes, support special diets, and collaborate with the dining services team to ensure timely meal service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience cooking in healthcare, senior living, or high-volume food service preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and instructions consistently.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, menus, and portion guidelines.
• Ensure meals meet quality, presentation, and dietary standards.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control policies.
• Support special diets and dietary restrictions as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and food prep areas.
• Assist with inventory, storage, labeling, and rotation of food items.
• Work closely with the dining services team to ensure timely meal service.
