Job summary

American Senior Communities is seeking a Cook for our Todd Dickey Nursing & Rehabilitation kitchen in Leavenworth, IN. You will follow recipes to prepare nutritionally balanced meals for residents and lead staff in food prep, sanitation, and storage.

Responsibilities include preparing meals to meet menus, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring a clean work area. State/federal regulations compliance and ServeSafe certification are important for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or 1–3 years related experience or equivalent.
• ServeSafe Certification required; sanitation/food handling certification preferred depending on state/federal rules.
• Prior institutional or healthcare service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food that meets residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks or prepares meals in appropriate quantities.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning and storage.
• Maintains a clean, compliant food service work area during food prep and service.
• Handles, stores and disposes of food supplies per procedures and regulations.

Education

Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling

Prior Institutional and/or Healthcare service experience
