Job summary

American Senior Communities is hiring full-time Cooks for evening and day shifts at Westview Nursing and Rehab. You will prepare nutritious meals following recipes to meet residents’ dietary needs, while upholding high sanitation and food safety standards.

You will lead kitchen staff, assemble trays, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related experience; sanitation certification and healthcare experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years related experience.
• Preferred: Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification.
• Preferred: Prior institutional and/or healthcare service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food meeting residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks or prepares appealing, nutritionally adequate meals in required quantities.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during food preparation and service.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies per departmental procedures and regulations.
