Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Wilmington, NC seeks a Cook for its community restaurant caring for residents with fresh, nutritious meals prepared from scratch. You will work with the culinary director to create diverse menus, including traditional comfort foods and seasonal options, using local ingredients.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year kitchen experience, knowledge of equipment, and a Food Handler Card. Flexibility for weekends/holidays is preferred and safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of full-service kitchen experience and ability to cook from scratch.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and knife handling.
• Food Handler Card and understanding of kitchen sanitation codes.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a compassionate, high-performing team delivering top-level results.
• Prepare and cook meals following established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
• Set up and break down work areas in a timely fashion; keep stations clean and sanitized.
• Collaborate with the dining services team to ensure timely meal service.
• Check and restock all foods for proper service.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
• Participate in training sessions, including food handling and safety certifications.
