Job summary

Avamere Communities is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents at Avamere at Sandy, OR. The role involves executing daily menus, adapting recipes for dietary needs, and maintaining high sanitation and food safety standards.

The Cook will collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to ensure care plans align with resident diets, while creating a warm and dignified dining experience.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of Cook experience, hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
• Current ServSafe Manager certification is required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions with attention to detail to follow recipes and production sheets.
• Must have a current Food Handlers Card issued by local Health Department.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner ensuring appetizing presentation and correct temperatures.
• Prepare alternative options and snacks for residents with changing appetites.
• Adapt recipes to meet dietary needs (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, vegetarian, texture-modified).
• Support memory care residents with dining needs and flexible scheduling.
