Sarasota Bay Club, a luxury senior living community, seeks an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting for the organization and related entities. This hands-on role partners with executive management on budgeting, cash management and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial statements.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in progressive accounting leadership, strong GAAP knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, financial analysis and month-end close.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and deadlines.
• CPA or equivalent preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Oversee general accounting: GL, AP, AR, cash management, reconciliations.
• Manage monthly and year-end close; ensure timely financial statements.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and assist with forecasts and planning.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and integrity of records.
• Oversee banking relationships and cash management activities.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax, insurance, banks, and service providers.
• Support insurance, risk management, and financial matters.
• Maintain supporting schedules for balance sheets, assets and reserves.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies and regulations.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff; provide analysis to leadership.
• Participate with management to support operational and strategic decisions.
