Job summary

Gilbane Building in Sarasota, FL seeks a seasoned Business Controller to ensure timely, accurate BU financial reports and safeguard assets. You will partner with department heads to align overhead departments with the business's financials and lead regional office financial governance.

The role entails strengthening internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, project risk analysis, and capital expenditure oversight, while developing a capable team.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of DCAA labor rates, burdens, and internal cost allocations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure internal controls are in place and adequately maintained, including proper segregation of duties.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Certify project forecasts are correctly set up and reporting is accurate.
• Adhere to capital expenditure policy and manage region expenditures.
• Oversee monthly balance sheet analysis and timely corrective actions.
• Provide due diligence on financial risks and identify training needs for forecasting.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
