Job summary

LCB Senior Living is hiring a Chef at The Residence at Pearl Street in Reading, MA. This full-time role offers a wage band of $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, with benefits starting from day one, including health, vision, dental, 401k, PTO and holiday pay.

The Chef will lead dining operations, supervise culinary staff, and ensure safe, high-quality food service for residents. Serve Safe Certification is required; HS diploma preferred; 1-3 years in hospitality/healthcare cooking is desirable.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide excellent customer service and promote a restaurant-style dining atmosphere.
• Able to read and follow recipes and printed production guides, cleaning schedules and logs.
• Experience in health care or hospitality settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level of customer service and promote restaurant-style dining.
• Work with Culinary Services Director/Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
• Assist Culinary Director with supervision of culinary staff.
• Assist with preparation and execution of dining enhancement programs.
• Maintain kitchen and storage areas in a clean, safe, sanitary condition.
• Open and/or close the kitchen as needed and follow cleaning schedules.
• Ensure food is received, stored and prepared per company standards.
• Estimate daily/weekly food and supply needs and communicate with Food Service Director.
• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus.
• Document food temperatures before service and monitor refrigeration/freezer temps.
• Provide snacks/beverages to residents and keep areas clean.
• Assist with events, banquets, and theme meals.
